Happy Humpday everyone! I know it seems as if I have not been very active. That is totally not the case. Your girl is doing a lot of content planning and testing ways to increase my following and readership on my blog. Fashion blogging and being an influencer is not all glitz, glamour, photoshoots and getting dressed up. It’s very time consuming, but I love it and I’m passionate about this topic. With that being said, I don’t mind the work that’s required to put into it. Excellence takes time. I always try to remind myself of that when I feel like Im not getting success with it.
I recently became obsessed with utilizing primary colors in my looks, preferably my work outfits because that’s where I spend 80% of my time lol so it would make sense to get the most creative with these outfits. I work in a rather laid back/creative work environment where the dress code is not very strict. You just need to come to work polished and put together. Most start-up work environments call for this type of dress policy. For fashionista’s like myself this is a fashion lover’s dream; to have the ability to be express your sense of style as you’re being productive and contributing to the company.
To achieve the primary colors work look, I paired the navy long sleeved polka dot blouse with my black blank nyc pants. To top it off, drum roll please…my red bootie shoes by kenneth cole! Your foot work is so vital because it can truly make or break your outfit. In this case, my shoes made my outfit. I like to keep things subtle, chic, elegant, but also edgy at the same time for the work place. For some this might not make any sense, but I think it’s achievable and it fully expresses my sense of style. The black pants and navy long sleeve polka dot blouse provide a subtle yet elegant vibe. If you work in an environment similar to mine, I challenge you to have some fun with your work wardrobe! You don’t necessarily need to wear black every single day.
Try incorporating some loud printed blouses, but to tone it down because you are at work after all, I would pair it with neutral colored bottoms such as black, grey, dark navy, or khaki. Tomorrow is never promised and life is too short to be dressing in all black 24/7 and never playing around with colors and clothing and seeing what works for you! Divulge in fashion and play around with prints and colors. If something doesn’t look good, try something else. That is the true beauty of fashion; the endless opportunities to be creative and express yourself.
