Are you wanting to start that online boutique or youtube channel but don’t want to because everyone else is doing it around the same topic as you? Have an idea for a podcast, but have been very hesitant on starting it because you see everyone is talking about the same topic? or Wanting to create an app, but see it’s already been created before? I am here to tell you to crush that perspective and get the devil out of your head. I am going to be that honest friend to relay a message for you; that perspective is absolutely foolish, just stop it. Someone has to be honest and say it. It’s time to start taking the jump and going after everything you want! We have no room for settling in 2019 or ever for that matter.
I had this same mindset right before I got serious about blogging this past November. It was not easy to rid this perspective, however it can be done and I know you can do it. Whatever business venture you’re interested in starting, JUST DO IT despite if you know of 3 other people who are doing the same thing! If I continued to listen to the negative thoughts in my head that told me not to blog because you follow 10 different bloggers with the same blogging topics as you, I would not be writing this blog post. I’d be sitting somewhere just not happy with life telling myself, dag you should’ve just started that fashion blog you always wanted to.
We do such a huge disservice to ourselves and to the lives of so many people we can potentially reach when we hold back on tapping into the things we truly love to do. Even though you may have a boutique selling women’s clothing, you may market your brand in a different way than your competitors, or even more important people will follow you because you have a message that resonates with them. Brand Identity is so important in whatever business venture you launch. I think the goal with starting any business venture is to conduct your research. Study what other people are doing, how they are doing it, and what they are saying, and DO IT BETTER THAN THEM.
People are going to follow people they like, who they relate to, and whose message resonates with them the most. If you know you can solve problems, inspire and ultimately bring value with the content you produce, you’re golden. There will always be a check whenever there are problems being solved. If you go down the bread aisle of a grocery store you see a plethora of different brands who sell wheat bread! There is room for everyone to eat.
Life is too short to not try at all. If it is something that truly lights you up on the inside or it’s just something you want to try, I’d say just go for it. What is the absolute worst that could happen? Go through what all the terrible things that could happen, if you cant even think of one, what’s holding you back from doing it ?
