This past Saturday, April 13th was such a teaser for the weather to come! Im excited and ready for the beautiful weather! The sunshine provided a perfect day for shooting content. With the sunny days slowly approaching us, it’s important we try to incorporate some color into our wardrobe, because why not? Colors have specific emotions attached to them so why not wear colors that will match the weather; bright, happy, and sunny. Jumpsuits are my pride and joy. There are so many great benefits to rocking a killer jumpsuit. It is one of my favorite pieces of clothing to rock in the Spring/Summer months. Check out my 4 tips to slay in your jumpsuit this spring!
Tip 1 : Aim for comfort and convenience first, not always cuteness
Now I will be the first one to admit, I love wearing extremely chic and edgy pieces. however, If I cant have comfort and flexibility in these pieces first and foremost, I’ll throw the whole garment away! I do not have the patience. I can’t stress this enough. Ensuring you’re comfortable in a one piece is extremely important. No one but you will be wearing this one piece. You have the think about how easily you’ll be able to get in and out of the jumpsuit too. Jumpsuits are meant to be convenient and stylish. It’s a one piece it shouldn’t be stressful to put on and take off! It needs to be a jumpsuit that will meet your needs and body type. Tip 2- Ask yourself this question; Wear will you mainly be wearing this jumpsuit, is there a special occasion you’ll need it for?
Are you seeking an all purpose jumpsuit? One that can take you from work to the movies, or a hot date afterwards? One that you can also wear to church? Believe it or not there are several jumpsuits available out there that can meet all of these specific categories. It all depends in how you style it to meet the occasion. For example, the mustard yellow jumpsuit from F21 is a multi-purpose jumpsuit. The reason being, you can style so much with it to meet any occasion. If you’d like to wear a more formal jumpsuit, those are also readily available too. There’s honestly a jumpsuit for every occasion. You just have to decide where you will be wearing it. Most of my readers like the option of being able to own a multi purpose piece and style it several different ways to meet their needs. This jumpsuit I’m wearing is a great example. To give this a professional touch, I would throw a Navy Blazer over the jumpsuit, along with some nude heels. To make it more casual, I would wear white mules w/a heel and throw a cute cropped medium washed denim jacket to go over it. It’s such a simple tip, but often sometimes overlooked. When you can weed out these types of things, it will help steer you in the direction of finding the perfect jumpsuit.
Tip 3- Don’t Be afraid to Accessorize, throw in a statement bag!
Accessories should be your best friend! My typical default is to always throw in a statement bag and wear sunglasses. I find it super convenient to rock a statement bag over a statement jewelry piece anyday. Depending on the piece you own, it can take longer to put the necklace on, versus just grabbing your bag and hitting the streets! I am a big advocate of convenient style when dressing. it will save you time when heading out the door when you just grab your bag and go. Refer to the link below for my exact bag:)
Tip 4: Have a Killer shoe with a heel!
Shoes, shoes, shoes! Oh how we love them. This is an important aspect of your jumpsuit outfit that can make or break the ensemble. Jumpsuits were originally a trend that formed in the 70’s that never went out of style. When jumpsuits surfaced in the 1970’s people often wore them with heels. Rarely did you find photos of women wearing jumpsuits with flats. I love the look they created, mostly thanks to Bianca Jagger who was a pioneer in styling the jumpsuit look! Wearing heels or even a chunky heal elongates the leg, providing a sleek and polished look. Flats would totally ruin the finish of the silhouette. Quite frankly it would look a bit sloppy, and like something is missing from the outfit. The shoes help bring it all together. There is an exception to wearing flats with a jumpsuit. If the silhouette is a skinny leg, then flats would be a good fit, however if the jumpsuit consists of a wide leg, always throw in a heel by default!
It’s very rare that I can include all of the links to my outfit. Take a look below for the exact links of where you, yes you can get this exact look!
