As women, we all need to have supportive workout outfits that get us through our sometimes intense cardio and training. I created a list of some of the Top 7 workout wardrobe essentials you should not head to the gym without. Each of these pieces are vital for me to feel comfortable and productive in the gym. Your main focus when going to the gym should be your workout; not breaking a sweat over what you’re going to wear. Get it 🙂 It will aid in helping you select the right pieces to support your typical workout routine. Let’s get right into it!
A Supportive Sport’s Bra- If you got a full bust like myself, you’re going to want an extremely supportive and comfortable sport’s bra.
Even for ladies without double D’s, it’s important to keep your girls in position to obtain maximum comfort during your workout. I do not enjoy my boobs flying all over the place as I’m doing cardio, so this quite frankly is the most important workout wardrobe essential for me. Do yourself a favor and purchase a sports bra that provides medium-high impact support. I like my bra’s to fit a little snug as this assures me they will stay in place and won’t go flying anywhere. It really is your preference, however you don’t want your sports bra to fit too loose either. Here you can find some links of some of my favorite, affordable, and highly recommended sports bra’s. (keep reading below to find the one I have on in the picture) You could honestly never have enough sports bra’s. I would advise having anywhere between 5-6 pair in your collection if you work out every other day.
Endless Tank Tops
This is an absolute must have. Having endless flowy tank tops are almost a no brainer to have in your workout wardrobe. Lean towards tank tops that are lightweight, flowy, and don’t stick to you. This will create so much discomfort as you’re sweating if you wear a top that is either snug or fitted. One great thing about tank tops is that they’re very convenient to throw on when you’re itching to get out the door. Throw on a comfy tank top, some leggings and you’re set. Where would we be without a comfortable pair of leggings that make our butts look amazing and also provide comfort while in the gym? All jokes aside, This is probably the second most important article of clothing you’ll have in your workout wardrobe. My go to favorite leggings of all time that Im thrilled to share with you all are the high waisted leggings from Fabletics. I present to you the Mila Pocket Capri Legging. Muscle Tee’s are beneficial to wear during runs, walks, and light workout days. They provide so much comfort, are lightweight and easy to throw on. I like convenience but also want to look cute. I know im extra. Muscle tee’s do that for me. If you’re anything like me and love the idea of comfort and also looking cute in your workout outfits, then a muscle tee might be something you may want to incorporate into you’re existing workout wardrobe. I instantly get into work out zone once I throw this on. Plus they look cool on and make you feel official.
Matching Workout Set
I’d declare this as a workout wardrobe essential because it circles back to my motto of “when you look good you feel good” mentality. I love incoporating bright colors in my workout wardrobe sets because they make me feel happier. They make me feel more empowered and motivated to get my workout complete! They say excersing releases endorphins, well I also feel as though wearing a cute matching workout set increases my endorphin levels. I would recommend looking into Fabletics again. Biker shorts have grown to not only be a style that you wear to the gym, but one that can be dressed up for multiple occasions. We are going to focus on why it’s a great number to include in your workout wardrobe. These are a comfortable bottom when you want to feel free. It’s important to purchase a biker short that doesn’t contain too much spandex, but instead one that is breathable and stretchy. The goal is to always aim for comfort. These are extremely comfortable and worth trying. I scored the ones I currently own for only $3.90 USD!
Even though we’re in the summer months, I would be remiss to not discuss the importance of an active wear jacket/hoodie. Throwing that in there is just a must. The chilly fall season will be here before you know it. You should try to keep your workout jacket separate from an everyday jacket you wear for when it begins to get chilly outside. If you get cold easily like myself, Im sure you already have a go to activewear jacket/hoodie.
